For a number of years various patient groups have discussed the idea of having an annual day specially dedicated to people with psoriasis. (After all we have World Aids Day, No Tobacco Day and there's even an International Internet-Free Day on 26th January).

So here we have it - 29th October. A global consortium of patient associations from all over the world have come together and this day has officially been declared World Psoriasis Day.

Its purpose? To act as a focus for people - patients, doctors and the public alike - to raise awareness of psoriasis and to give these people the attention and consideration they deserve. We also want to use World Psoriasis Day as a channel to encourage health authorities to offer patients better access to the most appropriate treatments.
